Or is the obvious choice just to go for a regular Windows 10 Pro, which I already know really well, where Drivepool will work with my current hard drives without migrating to a new file system such as ZFS etc. Right-click the partition (where the drive shows the word Healthy) and select Properties. Navigate to Disk Management and select the drive you removed from the pool. With that said though, it is probably not a good idea to choose any of the more complex Linux setups for that reason. Open Computer Management (Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools OR Start -> Run -> compmgmt.msc). I really don't have any experience with Linux, but I always like to learn new stuff, so that may but be a bad thing. However, I guess it might be feasible to run the media server as a container on my NUC, but still have all the files stored on the server. Possibility to make backups of my Windows PCs around the house, preferably complete system snapshots. Possibility to run Docker containers, but this is not a must, since I will still run a separate Intel NUC for all my home automation, but I might use that for other services as well.

(I currently run Stablebit Drivepool which has worked great). To summarize what everyone has already said in this thread, there is currently no way to 'properly' activate Windows Home Server 2011.while you can use a Server 2008 OEM key and certification, using Windows Update is not possible and some random errors pop up like randomly high CPU usage due to the key incompatibility problems and Dashboard crashing upon launch. Some sort of storage pooling, since I use a multitude of different hard drives. The thing I get stuck with every time I think about this is, "what OS would be a good fit?".

When using the “Remote” default site I needed to create a “Remote\Calibre\Browse directory to make the Content Server “Home” button work.I really need to upgrade my home server to some other OS than my current Windows Home Server 2011, since it was deprecated several years ago (that is also how long I have been thinking about this ?). … however when I try to browse to All Books or Newest I get an “Error arseerror” message.Īnybody got any ideas what this issue might be? When I browse to “/remote/calibre” I get the Calibre Content Server home page and I can browse by Authors, Ratings, Publishers, Tags and Series as before. I can now browse to “/remote” remotely and log on to the WHS. So I moved the “Site\Calibre” directory to “Remote\Calibre” and adjusted the URL Rewrite rules to match. This is great for internal home use but to enable access from the web, users need to be authenticated. As a replacement for Drive Extender, Microsoft stated that OEMs would use RAID on their Windows Home Server products. When I browse to “/calibre” I get the Calibre Content Server page, everything works fine and I can browse by Publisher, Authors, All Books etc.
To begin with I created a folder “Calibre” under “Sites” and the created the necessary rules in (IIS) URL Rewrite as detailed in the Calibre manual.
Windows Home Server 2011 Partition Magic Server is a magic server disk management toolkit, it helps you resize partition. To resize partition and manage disk partitions on Windows Server, you have to find partition magic alternative. WHS 2011 has default web sites of “Site” which does not require authentication and “Remote” which does require authentication. Partition Magic alternative for Windows Server. I’ve been trying to integrate Calibre Content Server with Windows Home Server 2011.
